Dance Drama
Every outward manifestation is a result of an inner cause. In other words, if your expression is just from the outside it’s not real and people will get bored watching. If you just think about dance steps; then all your communicating is counts, plie, chasse, Ist position or 2nd position. But if you think of the character while your dancing, you create a character and a story that the audience relates too and cares about. In fact if you create a true character the audience will see themselves in the character and will cry or laugh with you..I use the Del Sarte method of gestures and the Stanislavski method of acting. We will continue to explore expression through dance and creating characters. Drama I prerequisite.
Beginning Adult Drama
We will be studying voice projection, emotional recall, and improvisation. This class curriculum is from Spolin's Improvisation for Theater, Yakim"s Creating Characters Stanislavski's System and the Bible
